Community Support

We believe that education is the most powerful agent of inclusion. It is the foundation on which a more prosperous and less unequal society is built.

It is very rewarding for us as parents to raise our children in a school that stands for these values, that works to create opportunities for bright, hard-working young people who are isolated by a difficult economic situation. We have no doubt that many lives will be transformed.”

ELVIO E LUCIANA ROCHA,
current parents at St. Paul’s and Foundation’s donor

From an academic point of view, the pupils have done extremely well making us all very proud. They’ve not only achieved top grades, but they have also engaged in our wonderful extracurricular activities. Moreover, from a social standpoint, the families are part of the St Paul’s community already. As PTA and a school mum, I’m very happy to have welcomed such wonderful people. They are assets to the schools, and they’ll always have my support.”

IARA REMBADO,
current mother at St. Paul’s and PTA representative

With new scholars, it is evident that inclusion is an issue that affects us in different areas, not only personally, but as a community that has the responsibility of education on its shoulders. It is outstanding to see that St. Paul’s took the words off the paper and put its positioning into practice, making its teaching more inclusive. It’s wonderful that we are using our privilege to help people from different backgrounds reach their full potential. The Foundation has brought a lot of diversity and inclusion to our school. Going forward, I look forward to seeing this incredible programme grow even further and bring even more scholars into our community.”

SARAH LAWRANCE BUENO,
pupil at St. Paul’s

We feel that supporting access to quality education by kids who are less privileged can not only transform those kids’ life but also set a great example for our own children and help them to realize how fortunate they are and how important it is to help others.”

GUILHERME FORBES,
current parent at St. Paul’s and Foundation’s donor

This year we re-launched the St. Paul’s Foundation’s calendar of events, including some new initiatives. We also received generous donations which kept the 2021-2022 scholarship programme strong and healthy. Below are some of our main initiatives.

WOMEN IN EDUCATION

At the ‘Gift-a-Girl’ event in May 2022, we discussed the positive impact scholarships have had on girls and their families. The event’s panel included Tabata Amaral, a Federal Deputy whose life was transformed through an educational scholarship and our own scholar, Ana Claudia. The event was moderated by St Paul’s Deputy Head, Zeba Clarke. Parents, teachers and scholars were touched and inspired by the panellists’ life stories. Both Tabata and Ana Claudia emphasised how important extra support is to scholars and how it was pivotal for their own success. They also emphasised the importance of parents’ and teachers’ support.

A DOSE OF COFFEE AND GENEROSITY

‘A Cup of Joy’ is the Foundation’s coffee shop, which came about through the generous partnership with Um Coffee Co, a local coffee shop which roasts its own beans. Through this partnership, the Foundation aims to expand its community reach, strengthening the Foundation’s work.

Cup of Joy participated in the International Day for the first time

VITAL DONOR SUPPORT

Every donation helps, and this year we witnessed the power of people and corporate networks which believe in the transformative power of education. Nearly 100 families actively supported us over the last year with one-off or monthly donations to the scholarship programme. These donations were sourced through the events we organised and attended, telephone contact, social media networks, email, and through the Foundation’s website.

Our donors

We would like to thank all our donors for their support. Each and every contribution has been instrumental in changing the lives of so many children and their families and enriching the community with their perspectives, life stories and achievements.

Now it is even easier to donate to the Foundation. We have set up a platform on our website that is available 24/7 so that donors can contribute to our mission from anywhere in the world, whenever they want and however they want. There you can choose the amount, frequency of donation and payment. Visit: www.fundacaostpauls.org.br/donate/
