Beyond the classroom
One of the unique things about the St. Paul’s Foundation is that it supports scholars beyond just paying their school fees. The purchase of uniforms, computers, calculators, travel to and from school on public transport, school meals, teaching materials and school trips are just some of the costs which the Foundation covers.
Summer courses and
immersion programmes
These broaden scholars’ cultural horizons as well as their future academic and professional horizons.
Local and international
school enrichment trips
Programmes such as the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award and the Model United Nations require participation at events both in Brazil and Europe. Scholars who take part in these programmes have the Foundation’s full financial support including any clothes and accessories.
Academic and sporting
competitions and Olympiads
The Foundation pays for uniforms and any equipment required at these events as well as travel costs.
FOR THE FAMILIES
The Foundation helps scholar’s families integrate into the school community.
• Parents sign a scholarship commitment contract which outlines the family’s rights and duties.
• Scholar parent group meetings encourage parents to share their ideas and experiences.
• The PTA (Parent Teacher Association) organises a ‘Buddy Family’ system in which a scholar family is mentored by a family which has been at the school for several years who will act as guardians, helping them navigate the school’s systems and being on hand to answer any questions.
CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS
Below are other ways we support our scholars through our corporate partnerships.
• Tatiana Kerr, Orthodontist: looks after scholar’s dental hygiene.
• Sejunta Technology: this educational technology company support scholars in the use of MacBook and other technology platforms which are given to scholars when they start at St. Paul’s.
• BM Uniforms and Gilbert Rugby: these companies provide all uniforms (sport and everyday) to the scholars.
• Sodexo: provide meals to the scholars during the school day.
• IRKO Accountants: support the Foundation in all accounting and regulatory matters concerning scholar benefits, the running of the selection process and scholarship programme and the day-to-day administration of the Foundation.
• Bematize: pay for the scholars’ private health plans.
• Logic Prep: supports the scholars in their university preparation.
• Cultura Inglesa: annually offers a 50% discount in the English course fees for the Preparation Course candidates. The other 50% are paid by the Foundation.
