Our newly selected scholars have just begun their St. Paul’s School induction season. For the 2023-24 academic year, the St. Paul’s Foundation is welcoming eleven new scholars – a record number and the highest since we’ve started the selection process.
These pupils were selected from over 180 applicants and went through a thorough 18-month selection process, sitting through tests on different subjects and participating in an English immersion before the start of their in-person Prep Course at St. Paul’s. After interviews with members of the leadership and internal reviews, the pupils approved who will be joining the school in August are:
- Form 1: Melissa, Benício e Maitê
- Form 2: Valentina
- Form 3: Gustavo, Isabela e Manoela
- Form 3: Fernanda, Júlia, Catarina A. e Catarina M.
That puts St. Paul’s Foundation scholars placed in every year of Senior School for the first time, considering our current and entering pupils – 28 in total.
To prepare them for the beginning of the academic year in August, pupils and their families have been invited to the school for welcoming sessions with leadership members that will be part of their day-to-day school life.
They were welcomed by the school Headmaster and also met the Head of the Senior School, many Assistant Heads and their Heads of Year.
This induction week has also allowed pupils to learn more about specific terms at St. Paul’s and what their school routine will look like. They’ve also officialised their enrollment process and tried on their new uniforms. For those entering Form 3 and Form 4, pupils have chosen some of their academic subjects in their curriculum for the next academic year.
