St. Paul’s Foundation opens the 2024 entry selection process application window following Monday, 30th January, at 8 am. This is a moment many students and their families have been waiting for, and they hope to make the most of the opportunity of applying for a full scholarship at St. Paul’s School, a British international school internationally acknowledged by excellence.
Applying involves documentation and materials such as an essay and a video in English, as well as paying attention to the criteria described here on our website – this page explains everything about the selection process. But in this article, the Foundation’s team shares tips on the main characteristics that we look for in the candidate’s profile, and that help them to perform better throughout the selection process.
Enjoying to study – the student must have a school record without fails/disapprovals and with excellent grades. But the most important thing is that they like to study and enjoy learning new things! The Foundation seeks students with the sparkle and grit to make the most of educational experiences and feel motivated by new academic opportunities.
Being resilient and enjoying challenges – the St. Paul’s Foundation selection process is designed for the student to have fun and learn during each stage, but it also has several challenges. Sending documents and materials with care and attention, writing and speaking English, taking previously unknown tests… not to mention that the selection process lasts up to 18 months, considering the entire preparatory course. And all of this happens while the student is still enrolled in their current school! For this reason, candidates must develop flexibility and their ability to adapt to changes and face challenges and difficulties with optimism and patience.
Good communication in English – St. Paul’s School is a British school, and the academic curriculum is taught almost entirely in English. Candidates will already be in contact with the language from the early stages of the selection process – for example, upon application, the student must write an essay and record a video presenting themself in English. The applicant does not necessarily need to be fluent in the language but must demonstrate a good knowledge of the language to communicate clearly and confidently.
Organization – we have already mentioned here that the Scholarship Programme has a selection process with several stages over up to 18 months. Candidates and those responsible for them need to be aware of the materials and documents required, process deadlines and be punctual for appointments that may arise, such as assessments, interviews, and classes. And those who move on to the preparatory course phase will take an English course and have some activities to develop at home. This is why the organization is an important skill and needs to be sharp!
We know that applying for a scholarship can bring a lot of expectations and anxiety. Still, it is worth noting that when a selection process is carried out by the student with attention, care and affection, it can bring lifetime positive experiences. If you are preparing to apply for our selection process, we hope these tips will help you face this opportunity more confidently and passionately!
