The school year has begun for all pupils late this August and our scholars are now finally getting the whole St. Paul’s pupils experience! Throughout the first days of the academic year, our scholars have had the chance to meet their tutors for the rest of the school year, engage with their peers and have lessons in many different subjects.
They also signed up for many different extracurricular activities, clubs and societies. Some of our scholars joined the School Choir, sports sessions, MUN, Duke of Edinburgh and many others.
Scholars will also attend frequent well-being sessions with our School Counsellor, Dr. Laura Mack, a key resource for them to feel supported during the first weeks of their new academic life.
Four of our new scholars shared some of their first impressions of the school during these first few days:
Enzo shared that he “was really impressed with how welcoming the community was, both the pupils and the teachers. I was very happy with the way they received me.” Claudia has already been in a few school play rehearsals during this first week. For her, “Drama was something I’ve always enjoyed, and now I have the opportunity to engage in my interests and find people whom I identify with.”
Analú was thankful that “pupils and teachers are very concerned with making sure we’re not lost and that we understand all the content”. Victor also shared that “it can be a bit challenging because you’re changing language and adapting, but it’s also been very nice, as the school is preparing us for many future opportunities.”
Currently, St. Paul’s School has eighteen foundation scholars across the Senior School, which leaves us on track to our centenary target of having 50 full scholarship holders by 2026.
