The 2025-2026 St. Paul’s Foundation Selection Process opens for applications on February 3, 2025, offering a unique opportunity for talented pupils to access a world-class global education. Through the Scholarship Programme, pupils can benefit from the international curriculum at St. Paul’s School, a British school with nearly 100 years of tradition and excellence in São Paulo—the first British School Overseas in Latin America.

Previously on our blog, we detailed the eligibility criteria and required documents for the application process. Now, let’s go over the selection process step by step, leading up to the final selection of scholarship recipients.

Application submission and review

Once applications are submitted, the St. Paul’s Foundation team reviews all forms and documents sent by candidates (click here to check the required materials). This stage is essential to verify that students meet the program’s requirements and are prepared for the next phases.

Cognitive and English proficiency tests

Candidates who move on to the next stage visit St. Paul’s School for an assessment day. These digital assessments, taken on tablets, evaluate:
General cognitive skills
English proficiency level

The results help the Foundation and the school assess each student’s learning potential and development needs, ensuring they receive the necessary academic support throughout their journey.

Individual interviews

Following the tests, candidates participate in individual interviews conducted in English by members of St. Paul’s Leadership and the school’s SEL team. This stage allows us to get to know candidates better, understand their backgrounds, motivations, and aspirations for the future.

Prep Course

Candidates who move forward begin the Preparatory Course, which lasts for two semesters and represents the most immersive stage of the selection process.

During the first term, candidates attend weekly afternoon classes with volunteer teachers from St. Paul’s. The primary focus is English language learning, and for some candidates, these lessons are supplemented by sessions at Cultura Inglesa, partner of the Scholarship Programme.

Then, in the second term, in addition to English, pupils take classes in a variety of subjects, such as Global Perspectives, Computer Science, and more.

This period is essential for candidates to familiarise themselves with the school environment and gain a deeper understanding of what it means to be a St. Paul’s pupil.

Final selection of scholars

At the end of the Preparatory Course, the final selection process determines which students will join St. Paul’s as scholarship recipients in August of that year.

Each stage of the process is eliminatory, and this journey requires dedication, commitment, and a strong desire to learn.

The St. Paul’s Foundation Selection Process is more than just an academic opportunity—it is the beginning of a transformative journey. If you dream of studying at St. Paul’s and fit the profile for the program, stay tuned for the dates and apply for this unique opportunity!
