At St. Paul’s School, pupils can apply for a chance to participate in the Global Exchange Programme, developed in partnership with two prestigious UK schools: Downe House and Radley College. This initiative offers our pupils a unique opportunity to engage in a cultural and educational exchange and broaden their horizons.
For the last two weeks, students from Downe House and Radley College spent a period here in São Paulo during their half-term break. The St. Paul’s pupils Rachel, Nicole, Mirela, Luisa, Tomas, and Victor – our scholar – , were selected to host their UK buddies, helping them adjust to the school and introducing them to the city. Victor and his buddy even got to watch a football match!
Next year, the roles will be reversed: our pupils travel to the UK, where they will be hosted by their exchange partners for an equally exciting two-week stay.
For the pupils from Downe House and Radley College, this marks their first visit to Latin America and Brazil. The experience offers them a glimpse into the school, while also giving our students the chance to share more about the Brazilian culture.
About the experience, Victor has shared that: “Welcoming Seb to our community has been exciting. We have shared many experiences, including customs, languages, arts, and our cuisine; I can say that our Pão de Queijo conquered Seb’s taste. I believe that one of Seb’s most memorable outings was to watch a football match, in which he was impressed by the Brazilian people’s enthusiasm for the sport. At Radley, I look forward to experiencing a cultural immersion. I am excited to begin this enriching adventure that will surely change my life, both academically and personally.”
This exchange is a fantastic international opportunity that our scholars can take advantage of. This is not only a platform for cultural exchange but allows pupils to foster a deeper understanding of the world – a quality that we highly value at Fundação St. Paul’s.
