Our development coordinator, Stephanie Sippli, was in NYC recently and got to take part in different activities while in the city: strengthen ties with universities, connect with Old Pauleans, and also to have a chat with our first-ever scholar, Emiliano.

Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the city that never sleeps, the vibrant New York City! As a Development Coordinator and proud Old Paulean, this trip held special significance for me.
My journey began with a visit to one of the leading universities in the city, where I sought to gather valuable insights and benchmarks. It’s a practice we follow not only in São Paulo but also internationally, as we strive to learn from prestigious institutions worldwide. During this visit, I had the privilege of visiting the campus and meeting an experienced American fundraiser with over 25 years of expertise. The exchange of ideas and knowledge was truly invaluable, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and sharing within the fundraising community.
Another highlight of my trip was meeting an incredibly interesting Old Paulean who has called New York City home since graduating. His curiosity and eagerness to learn more about the Foundation was inspiring. As he didn’t have the opportunity to witness our Scholarship Programme during their time at St. Paul’s, it was a joy to share our mission and the transformative impact of a world-class education from St. Paul’s School. The connection and passion we shared as fellow Pauleans was truly heartwarming.
An even greater experience was meeting up with our very first scholar, Emiliano. It was a heartwarming reunion as we caught up. Despite years passing since his graduation from St. Paul’s, it was wonderful to hear about his positive experience at the school, the difference it made in his life and the glowing remarks he had to share. Witnessing his growth and success in the big city was truly rewarding.
Building new connections and spreading awareness about our scholarship programme remains a top priority for us. The support we receive from the St. Paul’s community, including our Old Pauleans, continues to reaffirm the significance of our cause. We firmly believe that once a Paulean, always a Paulean.
This trip to New York City has further fueled our commitment to creating opportunities and changing lives through a world-class education. We are grateful for the support of our community and excited to continue making a difference in the lives of deserving students.
