The St. Paul’s Foundation Scholarship Programme is at the final days of the application window for pupils interested in joining St. Paul’s in August 2023. They can fill out and submit their application form through the foundation website until Sunday, 20th March 2022.
The candidates must regularly attend other schools in Brazil, be between 11 and 14 years of age by 31st December 2022, and present excellent academic records. Also, the applicants must possess good knowledge of English and live in São Paulo within an hour and a half of St. Paul’s. Having a unique talent in music, art, drama, or sports is desirable but not mandatory.
As announced on the foundation’s website and social media, as part of the application candidates must send a video and a composition, both in English. One of the advantages of these resources is that pupils can use them as a way for the foundation to get to them better, as the original content is an opportunity for the team to see more of the candidate’s personality and character.
Looking for some tips before shooting the video? Check the list below:
- The video must be up to 90 seconds. Try to make the most out of this time!
- You can choose to either record the video in a room or an open environment — just make sure the recipient can hear you well. The suggestion is to choose a place that resonates with your personality, your studies or talents.
- This video is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and talk about your preferences and talents you may
have and that you think it’s relevant to mention in an educational context. Be yourself, but consider the audience.
For the composition, you can benefit from considering the tips below:
- You must develop ideas around one of the three topics suggested by the foundation.
- The text must be around 200 words. Try to be clear and concise, sticking to the main idea of the theme you chose
- Use a dark ink pen (remember, the composition must be handwritten) and make sure the text has good readability and contrast from the paper.
Last, but not least: both the composition and the video must be in English. Files submitted in any other language will not be accepted.
