The candidates for the St. Paul’s Foundation 2023-24 Selection Process have started, during the last week, their second term in the Prep Course – the longest and most intense step of the Selection Process.
Over the last term, 32 candidates had classes once a week at St. Paul’s School and an English immersion in Cultura Inglesa. For this term, the candidates went through an initial selection – out of 32, 24 will continue, to have classes three days a week at school.
In these sessions, which happen every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, students learn about various subjects – always in English. St. Paul’s teachers deliver the lessons in their subjects, which vary from the traditional History, Science, and Maths, but also Computer Science and Global Perspectives.
They will have around 50 classes this semester, the most intense stage in the Selection Process!
During this phase, the candidate’s family is also interviewed by a social worker to better understand their family structure and how much support it can provide for the candidate’s educational development. Additionally, they also undergo interviews and tests with the Foundation’s psychologist.
The Prep Course is a step where the candidate can get to know St. Paul’s better and decide as well if the school is the right place for them! Even the ones who are not selected as scholars, also have their lives transformed by this process.
