The St. Paul’s Foundation selection process is more than just an opportunity to earn a scholarship – it transforms candidates’ lives long before the final results. The Preparatory Course is the longest and most immersive stage of the process, offering a unique experience of learning, challenges, and personal growth.
Currently, candidates competing for entry in August 2025 are in the second term of the course. With a more intensive schedule, they now attend school three times a week, deepening not only their English skills but also their adaptation to St. Paul’s academic and school environment.
But what truly makes this experience so special? There’s no one better to share than the students themselves!
Beyond the English language: learning and friendships
The impact of the Preparatory Course extends far beyond the classroom. For Vinicius, this journey has been enriching in many ways: “In addition to improving our English, we build friendships, bonds, and expand our knowledge. I can confidently say that the Prep Course has improved my vocabulary, my pronunciation, and my overall English skills.”
The opportunity to practice English naturally and consistently has been a positive surprise for many students. Paula, for example, noticed her progress throughout the months: “As the course progressed, I realised that I was able to adapt and interact in English with ease, which exceeded my expectations, as I thought it would be much harder.”
Connecting with teachers from different backgrounds has also been a key highlight of the course. Joaquim shares how engaging and inspiring the classes have been: “The lessons always surprise me because all the teachers are excellent and engaging. It’s truly beyond the standard I was used to. I love the school’s atmosphere and how welcoming everyone is. I enjoy spending time in the library, having great conversations, and getting book recommendations. I’m also really excited for PE classes and everything that’s yet to come.”
Beyond academics, daily life at St. Paul’s has given students a broader perspective on the world. Luiza shares how this experience has been eye-opening: “Interacting with teachers from different nationalities, cultures, and life stories has broadened my perspective on the world. This experience has helped me develop skills that I know will be important both inside and outside of school.”
Regardless of the final selection, the Preparatory Course already has a profound impact on each candidate. The friendships built, the skills developed, and the confidence gained are achievements that will stay with these students, opening doors to a brighter future.
And for those dreaming of this opportunity, the St. Paul’s Foundation selection process is still open! Applications have been extended until Tuesday, March 25. Don’t miss the chance to be part of this transformative experience!
