The Foundation’s Selection Process begins with the application and submission of documents. Selected students then undergo cognitive tests and individual interviews. The longest and most intensive stage of the process, lasting up to one year, is the preparatory course, with English classes and various subjects at St. Paul’s. After interviews with family members, comes the long-awaited selection of the scholar!
Pro tips for a good application:
The application form is the first step of the process and, therefore, it is essential to fill it out carefully! In addition to information fields, the candidate must also submit: a photo or digital copy of the latest updated report card, with all grades from the year 2022; a handwritten essay of up to 200 words; and a video of up to 90 seconds, in English, introducing themselves.
Below, we have prepared some tips for achieving greater success in this first stage:
- Pay attention to the specific instructions of the field you will fill out. Some fields, such as date of birth, will ask you to reverse day and month, or not to use commas, for example.
- Choose an email of frequent access to be the registration email. This will be the main form of contact with the candidate and their family throughout the process.
- Check if the sent report card has your name and grade LEGIBLE.
- Remember that the report card with all the grades from the previous year is a mandatory document; the school transcript is optional.
- You can send more than one file per field, if necessary.
- Pay attention to the file extensions: opt for PDF or JPG files (except for the video).
- Search for a recent photo of yourself, with good lighting and quality.
- The essay should be handwritten, so make sure your handwriting is legible and the image quality is good.
- As the video should be up to 90 seconds, before you start recording, plan what you would like to say. Don’t forget to include why this opportunity interests you and why you want to be a scholar at St. Paul’s School!
- Check the entire form before clicking “submit” to avoid typing errors or incorrect information.
